Ever been on a long hike through some deep canyons? Well what might such a hike be like on another world? Perhaps three moons in a red sky would be considered normal. It's all a matter of perspective. Explorer is an early example of the use of "textured" acrylics. The cliffs are built up and literally sculpted then painted to give a very 3D look to this painting.
